Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Buckets mobile application (the "App"), provided by LampedUp ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. Description of Service

Buckets is a personal financial management tool for student-athletes earning NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) income. The App helps you:

• Track NIL income (deals, amounts, payment status)
• View linked bank and investment account balances and transactions (via Plaid)
• See budget and spending breakdowns
• Set and track savings goals
• View informational tax set-aside estimates based on income you record
• Receive optional reminders and notifications

2. Not Financial, Tax, or Investment Advice

The App's tax estimates, budgeting suggestions, and educational content are informational only and do not constitute tax advice, financial advice, or investment advice. Estimated tax set-aside amounts are calculated using simplified assumptions and are not a substitute for guidance from a licensed CPA, tax professional, or financial advisor. You are solely responsible for your own tax filings and financial decisions. We strongly encourage you to consult a qualified professional before making financial or tax decisions.

3. No Money Movement

The App does not move, transfer, or hold your money. It only displays information retrieved from accounts you choose to link, and record income you choose to enter. Any transfers between your own accounts must be initiated directly with your bank or financial institution, outside the App.

4. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into these Terms to use the App. The App is intended for use by college-age student-athletes and is not directed at children under 13.

5. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information when creating your account and when linking financial accounts.

6. Linked Financial Accounts

When you link a bank or investment account, you authorize our third-party provider, Plaid, to retrieve your account balances and transaction data on your behalf, and you authorize us to store and display that data within the App. You may unlink an account at any time, which stops future data retrieval for that account and deletes its previously stored transaction and balance data from our systems.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' data or to our systems
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or interfere with the App's normal operation
• Use the App to facilitate fraud

8. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR THAT BANK/TRANSACTION DATA DISPLAYED WILL ALWAYS BE ACCURATE OR CURRENT, AS IT DEPENDS ON THIRD-PARTY DATA PROVIDERS (INCLUDING PLAID AND YOUR FINANCIAL INSTITUTION).

Tax and budgeting figures shown in the App are estimates only, are not tax advice, and may not reflect your actual tax liability.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LAMPEDUP SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE APP, INCLUDING ANY RELIANCE ON TAX ESTIMATES, BUDGETING SUGGESTIONS, OR LINKED ACCOUNT DATA. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT (IF ANY) YOU PAID TO USE THE APP IN THE PRECEDING 12 MONTHS.

10. Third-Party Services

The App relies on third-party services, including Plaid (bank data), Supabase (authentication and data storage), Sentry (crash diagnostics), Apple (Sign in with Apple, push notifications), and Google (Google Sign-In). Your use of those integrations is also subject to each provider's own terms and policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or acts/omissions of these third-party services.

11. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time and delete your account in the App (More → your name → Settings → Delete Account) or by contacting support@buckets.finance. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective date" above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
